About Flash Capital
Technology with consequence.
Flash Capital invests in strategic technologies with commercial and national-security applications. Our approach combines independent investment judgment with structured intelligence.
Independent thinking. Decisive capital.
01Mission
Much of the technology that will matter to security and resilience in the next decade is not yet a company anyone can buy from. It is a small team, a working prototype and a hard problem. That is where we invest.
02A note to founders
Dear Founder,
The technologies that matter most usually start with one hard problem: protecting information, sensing the physical world, keeping essential systems running.
If you are turning a capability like that into a business with commercial and national-security applications, this letter is for you.
We take the mission seriously, and we underwrite the business. That means the technology, the buyer, the path to deployment and the capital it takes to reach your next milestone.
CAMP puts those questions in one place: Capital, Advantage, Market, People. Flash Intelligence structures your evidence. Our investment team tests it and decides.
The Flash Capital team
03What we believe
Six convictions.
- 01
Important is not the same as investable.
A technology can be vital and still fail as a business. What separates the two is adoption, defensibility, execution and economics.
- 02
The field is the test.
Security and resilience are decided in the field, not on the bench. We judge a technology by how it performs in the conditions its users actually face.
- 03
Security still needs a buyer.
National-security relevance does not replace commercial diligence. A government use case needs what a commercial one does: an identifiable user, a purchasing path and credible deployment requirements.
- 04
Evidence first, then judgment.
We verify claims before we weigh them. A polished narrative is no substitute for proof.
- 05
Fast because it is structured.
The assessment organizes the evidence before anyone meets, so the 14 days go to diligence, not to working out what to ask.
- 06
Three democracies.
We invest in the United States, India and Japan, and assess each company against the markets it intends to serve. Geography changes the evidence, not the standard.
04Where we focus
The frontiers we back.
In each, we underwrite both sides of the case: the commercial opportunity and the capability’s relevance to national security.
- 01
Sensing & autonomy
Sensing, robotics and autonomous systems on the ground, at sea and in orbit. We look for the path from technical performance to dependable operation and repeatable deployment.
- 02
Resilient infrastructure
Energy storage, the grid, critical minerals and advanced manufacturing. Technologies that reduce vulnerability and keep essential systems running under stress.
- 03
Intelligence & security
AI infrastructure, quantum computing, cybersecurity and trusted information systems. Capabilities that protect information, improve decisions and secure critical digital systems.
05Decisions
Structure informs. People decide.
CAMP examines Capital, Advantage, Market and People as one case, because each depends on the others. A technical breakthrough still needs a buyer, a deployment path and a financeable plan.
The structure keeps every review consistent: the same questions for every company, every answer checked against evidence.
It sharpens judgment. It does not replace it.
From assessment to decision
Scored. Verified. Decided.
The assessment is an input, not a verdict. Diligence verifies the claims behind it. Only then does our investment team weigh the assumptions, the material risks and the opportunity.

06Our commitments
What founders can count on.
The standards we hold ourselves to, from the first question to the final decision.
- 01
One standard.
Every company is assessed on Capital, Advantage, Market and People, whoever the founders know and wherever they are based.
- 02
Feedback either way.
Every founder who completes the assessment receives analysis and feedback, whether or not investment follows.
- 03
Fourteen days, by design.
The process is designed to complete within 14 days of the founder clicking the investment button. Completion depends on verification, diligence, approval and agreed terms.
- 04
A decision by people.
Our investment team meets the founders, tests the evidence and makes the call.
- 05
Discretion.
The assessment does not require confidential documents. Information is handled as our privacy policy sets out.
- 06
Terms in writing.
We typically invest through a SAFE with a valuation cap. Specific terms are agreed during review and documented before completion.
Hold us to it.
Every commitment on this page starts with the CAMP assessment. It takes about ten minutes, and you get analysis and feedback either way.
The assessment runs on Flash Intelligence, at flash.zone.
